Wulvern's board

Wulvern's Board is made up of 12 members, this includes; four Tenant Board members who are elected by our customers, five Independent Board members and three Councillor Board members.

Wulvern's Board operate as one team and are ultimately responsible for the organisation. They have a strategic role in setting the vision and direction of Wulvern and are responsible for ensuring that we are financially viable and that we meet our legal and regulatory requirements, including delivery of our commitment to Equality and Diversity. The Board have adopted the National Housing Federation Code of Governance.

The Board carry out annual Board member ‘personal development reviews’ and an internal audit of their effectiveness to help them in their role. We also conduct an external audit of Board effectiveness. The last review, conducted by Bentley Jennison Auditors in October 2008, gave us significant assurance that Wulvern’s governance arrangements are effective and appropriate.

Board members serve on the Board for a maximum of nine years from the date of transfer which was 10 March 2003 and can put themselves forward for re-election in rotation, every three years. Board member vacancies are advertised and followed by a recruitment process. Tenant Board members are subject to an election process by our customers at the associations AGM in September.

We do not publish our Board papers or minutes, however should customers wish to attend a Board Meeting as an observer, the Board will be pleased to accommodate this. To view a sample agenda please click here.
