Multiple movers at Chestnut Grove

Thirty two people have moved in to new homes in Crewe recently, thanks to local affordable housing provider Wulvern and Cheshire Home Choice.

Chestnut Grove, a brand new development of 14 two-bedroom homes near the town centre, is Wulvern’s first full street of eco-homes.  Each property has under-floor heating and air source heat pumps which should reduce energy bills by up to 15% and carbon emissions can be expected to be reduced by up to 20% against a conventional gas central heating system.

The development, completed within twelve months, has cost under £1.5 million including grant funding of £450,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency.

In an amazing coincidence, the new residents of Chestnut Grove include two couples sharing the same name, two children named Chelsea and two named Ethan!

Jade Roberts and Adam Burrows, who are now neighbours with Jayde Roberts and Adam Lowe, said: “We have caused quite a stir - and some confusion in the street!  Chestnut Grove is already proving to have a lovely community atmosphere.  We are looking forward to many happy years here.”

And if moving home wasn’t enough drama, Natalie Mellor was so keen to move into her new home she signed her tenancy agreement whilst in labour at Leighton Hospital!   Baby Ella arrived five hours later and is now settled into the family home.
